MainConcept Reference JPEG2000 Plug-in is a software module for video stream encoding into J2k (ISO/IEC 15444-1) streams within the Main Concept Reference application. DCI (Digital Cinema Initiative) adopted JPEG2000 for video encoding of motion pictures. Current movie distribution and presentation from movie rolls is expected to be replaced by digital projectors that will play high-res mj2 streams with superior image and sound quality. MainConcept Reference JPEG2000 offers full DCI compliance to ISO/IEC 15444-1 Amd1, Profile 3 and Profile 4, for Digital Cinema. It features multiple resolutions, alpha channel as well as RGB and YUV color spaces. The plug-in gives you exact control over the final bitrate in a single coding pass, so you do not need to adjust quality factor and recompress. Main Concept Reference JPEG2000 can only be used when the MainConcept Reference application is installed (not included). |

The demo version of the Main Concept Reference is a kind of basic application which includes the most important Main Concept codecs as a demo. You can test the power of the codecs the way you already know from the popular MPEG Encoder and H.264 Encoder application, i.e. only a watermark is added to the converted clips. The available demo codecs in Main Concept Reference are the following:
